Faulty checks

A business on Watson Plaza accepted two altered checks on Aug. 14. The value of the checks is not known, but police said Visa debit cards were purchased.

Theft

• Kohl’s reported a thief walked out with a pair of shoes and socks—and a second pair of new shoes on his feet—on Aug. 13.
• A handgun and camera were stolen from a home on Diversey on Aug. 15.
• A customer drove off without paying at Shell, 8600 Watson Rd., on Aug. 11.

Damage to property

A resident on Larchwood reported their car tire was punctured on Aug. 12.
