Chick-Fil-A Eyeing Sunset Hills Plaza Space

The restaurant would occupy a portion of the former Regions Bank site.

Chick-Fil-A is looking to bring its chicken sandwiches to Sunset Hills.

Last week the city's planning and zoning commission unanimously approved a conditional use request for the fast food chain to demolish and occupy a portion of the former Regions Bank building at 10722 Sunset Hills Plz. A public hearing is scheduled in front of the Board of Aldermen on Nov. 20.

The proposal includes seating for 132 customers, an indoor play area, and double lane drive-thru. The store would be open 6:30 a.m. - 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and closed on Sundays.

Representatives with the project estimated roughly 60 percent of its business would be from drive-thru customers, according to planning and zoning commission minutes. However, the site would not include direct traffic access to Lindbergh Boulevard or Rott Road.

If approved, Chick-Fil-A would open in 2013.

A Panda Express, Great Clips and Mattress Firm have already been approved for the other half of the site.

Would you like to see a Chick-Fil-A in Sunset Hills? Some Sunset Hills-Crestwood Facebook fans aren't crazy about the chain's politics--and one fan would like to see them set up shop in Crestwood--but a resounding number of fans like the idea!
