Crestwood Students Receive a Visit from the Manners Fairy
Crestwood Elementary students learned about table manners at a luncheon last week.
Crestwood Elementary students received a visit from the “Manners Fairy” during the school’s annual Manners Luncheon, according to a news release from the Lindbergh School District.
Cafeteria tables were decorated with tablecloths and boys and girls dressed up in their finest dresses and slacks. They tucked napkins under their chins as they ate their pizza and orange slices, and took polite sips from their cartons of milk.
“Having good manners means saying please and thank you,” said first-grader Nathan.
First-grader Sophia gave the Manners Fairy a nice compliment.
“I said ‘I like your dress,’” she said.
Each time the Manners Fairy (a close friend of Crestwood counselor Dana Lenzen) saw someone being polite, she visited their table, and “Ding!” gave them a wave of her magic wand.
“The Manners Lunch is part of our continuing Character Education at Crestwood,” Lenzen said. “The children dress nicely and practice great table manners.”
