Deli Replacing Imo's Pizza Across from Crestwood Court

The owner of Imo's at Watson and Sappington roads is re-opening as Puricelli's Deli after a fire damaged the pizza place's dining room in March.

Residents who were becoming restless by the vacancies at Watson and Sappington roads can heave a sigh of relief—a touch of life has come back to at least part of the intersection.

Drivers may have noticed the "Coming Soon: Puricelli's Deli" banner hoisted over the old Imo's Pizza sign.

Imo's closed after a dining room fire in March, according to KMOV. Those who were hoping the Provel-loving pizza joint would be resurrected shouldn't be too disappointed, however. The deli will be operated by the same owner, Crestwood Public Works Director Jim Eckrich said.

Because ownership isn't changing, they won't need to go through any hearings before the city, he added.

The deli will be open the week of Nov. 26.

We ate there on Saturday 12/22/2012. Awesome! Sandwiches were great. Not a lot of tables. But everything was fresh and the place was supper clean with really nice workers. Definitely will go again.

We've had carry out twice. Salads are pretty good but I liked Imo's salad better. They need to work on their cheese garlic bread but overall I liked it. It's great to have something in there now instead of a vacant building. I will go back there for sure and try other menu items.
