Welcome back, Patch Blogger!

Happy Anniversary, Sunset Hills-Crestwood Patch!

It's been an entire year since the site launched, and what a year it has been.

One year ago today, Sunset Hills-Crestwood Patch launched into cyberspace. An interactive news source helmed by Jean Whitney, the site wasn't just a daily online "newspaper." Readers were encouraged to submit photos, letters to the editor and comment on stories in their community. Social networking sites Twitter and Facebook were abuzz with the news about the new site.

And then, the New Year's Eve tornado hit. Thousands were without power, several homes were destroyed and many businesses were damaged in the area on Lindbergh south of Watson Road. Patch was on the scene, taking photos and getting community response to the tragic end to the year.

As the year went by, Patch was there, reporting on board of aldermen meetings, ribbon cuttings, community members doing great things and more.

In August, your's truly took over as the local editor, having transferred from Oakville Patch. I was thrilled to be in such a vibrant community with so much daily news happening.

As the year is coming to an end, I am so thankful to have such an avid readership who is committed to Sunset Hills and Crestwood. I'm excited to go into 2012 and beyond with you, hoping to expand the site even further to fit your needs. Check out the photo gallery for some top stories of the year. Thanks for a great year!
