Students at Lindbergh Schools expressed their thanks to our nation’s veterans Friday through assemblies, breakfasts and other tributes.

Concord Elementary School students put together an entirely student-led assembly to honor their local heroes. Each grade level learned a song for one branch of the armed forces and took turns singing it, as veterans in the audience stood and were recognized.

At Long Elementary School, West Point graduate Erin Neumann, whose mother is a former Lindbergh teacher, spoke to a packed gymnasium about her experiences. In addition, students dressed in traditional clothing representing many countries and sang “A Song of Peace”. Kennerly and Crestwood elementary schools planned assemblies for Monday, Nov. 12, to recognize veterans as well.

Sappington Elementary School students hosted a breakfast to honor their heroes, and Lindbergh High School students and Student Council members created 165 cards and a large banner for the Jefferson Barracks VA Medical Center. The medical center will use the banner to decorate its gymnasium, and the cards will be distributed to 130 patients who are currently receiving inpatient services at the hospital.
