Jefferson County Man Indicted for Stealing Father's Pickup Truck; Friend Also Indicted for Assault

Police said the owner tracked the truck to a Crestwood retail parking lot and confronted the men, who drove off as he was hanging onto the truck's door handle. The father suffered a broken leg.

A Jefferson County man was indicted by a St. Louis County grand jury Dec. 5 for stealing his father’s pickup truck, while his friend was indicted for stealing the truck and second-degree assault.

St. Louis County prosecutors said the two men, Nicholas Doane, 19, of the first block of Wampler in Jefferson County near Arnold, and Anthony Passiglia, Anthony Passiglia, 28, of Arnold, stole Doane’s father’s truck on Oct. 5.

Doane’s father used a cell phone app to track the truck to a Kohl’s department store parking lot in Crestwood, where he confronted the two men and demanded his truck back.

Passiglia jumped in the truck and began driving off as the owner was holding onto the door handle, and the victim fell and broke his leg, according to a Crestwood Police reports. Passiglia backed up and let Nicholas Doane in the truck, and the two men drove off, leaving him in the parking lot.

Doane and Passiglia are being held in St. Louis County jail. Bail was set at $15,000 for Doane and $25,000 for Passiglia.

A father's pride and joy. Nicholas also has a knack for picking helpful friends, after all, Tony backed up after dragging dad, just to pick up Nick. One thing's for sure, NO WAY were they doing drugs.
