Men Face Shrewsbury Armed Robbery Charges in String of Holdups

The men also face charges in Crestwood, Mehlville, and Brentwood.

Two men face criminal charges after police said they took a woman’s purse and cell phone during an armed robbery in the Dierbergs Market parking lot in Shrewsbury on May 15.

Curtis Edwards, 28, of the 200 block of Midway Avenue in Kirkwood, and Markele Prince, 17, both were charged with first degree robbery and armed criminal action.

It’s the latest in a string of armed robbery charges against the two men, although others also were involved in hold ups in other areas.

Edwards has been charged in four other armed robberies last May in St. Louis County. Prince faces two other first-degree robbery charges.

In the Shrewsbury robbery, police said Edwards chose the victim in the Dierbergs parking lot, 7233 Watson Road, and drove a car up alongside her.  Prince pulled out a handgun and threatened to kill the woman unless she gave them her purse and cell phone. The woman complied.

Both are being held in St. Louis County jail in lieu of a $75,000 bond for the Shrewsbury robbery.

It would be great of some of these cases could be followed. I wonder how much time, if any, this trash will be given by the judge in the case. If it were me, it would be many years before these guys get out of their cages. Even then, you know more innocents will fall victim.
