With the Super Bowl looming and a need for gridiron snacks, now you know readers' favorite spot for buffalo wings in South County.

Frankie G's in Mehlville won in this week's South County Food Fight, in which we asked Patch readers for their favorite restaurant for buffalo wings.

Frankie G's came in with 32 percent of the votes cast in our friendly food competition. The finalists included:

The other finalists each had 4 percent or fewer of the votes: Sport's Pub in Oakville; Frailey's Southtown Grill in Affton; O'Leary's Restaurant in Sunset Hills; Fenton Bar & Grill in, of course, Fenton; Smugala's Pizza in Sunset Hills; and Buffalo Wild Wings in Mehlville.

Voting took place from Thursday morning through Friday at 5 p.m.

Congratulations, Frankie G's, and thank you to all who participated in the Food Fight by voting in the poll and leaving comments on the site.

We look forward to hearing from you again in the next edition of Food Fight.

About this column: Each week, the South St. Louis County Patch sites (plus Arnold!) will seek the best place to get certain entrees in the area. The Food Fight will allow readers to vote on their favorite place to get a burger or a latte or a steak, etc., in the area. We will ask for submissions every Monday, will post finalists every Thursday and the champion on Saturday. Be sure to check back to vote.
