Local students get paid for A's through grade rewards program

Arsenal Credit Union recently awarded $897 to 111 young members who excelled in school during the past academic year.

Through the Tracker Academic All-Stars program, members of the credit union’s Tracker Kids Club have the chance to earn up to $5 per semester and $10 per year for “A’s” in English, math, science, social studies and one other class. Young members from kindergarten through sixth grade brought or sent in their report cards throughout the month of June, receiving $1 per “A” as a deposit into their account.

The credit union introduced these financial incentives three years ago as a way to recognize its young members for working hard in school; the grade rewards program complements a college scholarship program that the credit union has offered each of the past 17 years to members of its Advantage Point Teen Club who are graduating from high school.
