Crestwood Board Recognizes Outstanding Citizens

The Crestwood Board of Aldermen recently honored three residents for their public service.

The Crestwood Board of Aldermen honored three residents last Tuesday who have served on the city's board and commissions:

  • The late Gerald "Jerry" Thomas was a longtime member of the Crestwood-Sunset Hills Chamber of Commerce and served on the board of directors from 2002-2007. He served on both the Crestwood Police Board and Neighborhood Watch Committee. His wife, Nancy, accepted the resolution on his behalf.
  • Charlene Braun, appointed to the city's Neighborhood Watch Committee in 1997, has also led two tax initiatives: Proposition 1 and Proposition S. She was voted Citizen of the Year in 2007. She currently serves as the chairwoman for Crestwood Community Gardeners.
  • Jerry Bratsch is a previous member of the Crestwood Police Board and Charter Commission. He is the current treasurer of the Crestwood Veterans Memorial Committee, which sponsored last week's Veterans Day ceremony.
