Top Ten Things To Do This Weekend At Home

Saturday is the German Fest for all ages at Sunset Hills's pool, with music and food.


Where/When: Crestwood Aquatic Center,  , 9245 Whitecliff Park Ln.; 6:30-10 p.m. Friday.
Why Go: Supervised fun for youth ages 11-16 is what this 'alternative' event is all about. Admission fee includes pizza, popcorn and soda. Participants can swim and enjoy music provided by a DJ. Gates remain open until 8 p.m. The lock-in format means anyone leaving prior to closing will not be allowed to return. Co-sponsored by the Crestwood Police and the Crestwood Parks and Recreation Department.  Open to residents and non-residents.
Pricing: $6


Where/When: Sunset Hills Aquatic Center, 12512 W Watson Rd.; food will be sold starting at 5 p.m., musical entertainment begins at 6 p.m. Saturday.
Why Go: The annual event honors the German immigrants that settled in the the valley of Sunset Hills. Entertainment by Herb Eberle.

Where/When:, 9100 Russell Ave.; 7-9 p.m. Friday.
Why Go: Relax, have a picnic and enjoy standards, rockabilly-swing, classic country, jump-blues and pop music sounds of the Woo Daddies.

Where/When: Jefferson Barracks Park, Veterans Memorial Amphitheatre, 345 North Rd.; gates open at 7:00 p.m., the concert runs from 8-11 p.m. Saturday.
Why Go: Reminisce about what you were doing back in the day when these tunes were popular. Plus, parking is free. Concessions will be sold.
Pricing: $6 in advance, $7 at the gate, free for children younger than 12


Where/When: Washington University South Campus Theatre, 6501 Clayton Rd., 8 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Why Go: New Line Theatre presents the regional premiere of a show quickly becoming a cult hit.  This pop opera explores the world of religion, sexuality, guilt, jealousy, self expression through the experiences of young people set to a score that captures the spirit of youth.

Why Go: Listen to some traditional American and Irish music by a group named after the 1975 Willie Nelson album.

Why Go: The St. Louis Metro Singers present their annual season finale concert featuring music from across this country!

Why Go: Jennifer Windler from Healthy Life Deals shares tips on how to save on grocery bills.  Participants receive a set of starter coupons for name brand and organic products and one lucky attendee will win a $25 gift coupon.

Where/When: , Winifred Moore Auditorium, 470 E. Lockwood Ave.; 7:30 p.m. Friday.
Why Go: He's an acclaimed American pianist and host of the NPR music program, "From the Top."  O'Riley's appearance is part of the Missouri Music Teachers Association conference held at Webster University.

Where/When: , under the canopy of the St. Francis Building, 1015 Bowles Ave., Fenton; 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday.
Why Go: Buckle up the little ones safely for those summer road trips! Make sure child car seats are properly installed and meet safety guidelines as established by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The program is open to families with children that require car or booster seats and for those whose children no longer need them, information will be provided on properly securing seat belts. Expectant parents are invited to have their car seat installed before the arrival of their baby.
