Route 66 Classic Car Cruise Set to Return to Sunset Hills, Crestwood in August 2012

A Route 66 Classic Car Cruise representative announced date and entertainment for next year's cruise.

Butch Thomas, a Route 66 Classic Car Cruise representative, announced in last night’s Sunset Hills’ Board of Aldermen meeting that the group has decided to host its annual classic car show in Crestwood and Sunset Hills on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012. Car enthusiasts are invited to pull up a lawn chair along Route 66 (Watson Road) from Crestwood and Sunset Hills and see some of the most unique cars in the area.

This rain-or-shine event will be filled with fun activities, tasty food and more than 400 cars on display from noon to 7 p.m. at to celebrate the dealership’s 100 year anniversary. This will be followed by a concert by Sh-Boom, St. Louis’ premiere oldies band, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. All proceeds raised from the event will benefit local charities.

“The purpose of the Route 66 car show is two-fold; we would like to generate revenue and interest for local businesses and donate to charities who are helping those in the community,” Thomas said.
