Head into the weekend with these five awesome tidbits for Friday, Aug. 19.
1. A variety of price ranges are represented for this weekend's open houses. There also are two 1-acre lots—one on Nanell for $139,000 and one on Weber Hills for $100,000—and interest rates are at a low 3.95 percent.
2. Sunday Laumeier Sculpture Park is hosting a docent-led walking tour of the current collection, Architecture and Space. One-hour tours depart from the museum shop at 2 p.m.

4. The Crestwood Kid's Triathlon is at 8 a.m Sunday, Aug. 21. The registration deadline has passed, however it looks like a fun event to watch!
5. Crestwood Police and Parks and Recreation have teamed up to host "The Alternative. Gates open tonight at 6:30 p.m. and remain open until 8 p.m. Residents and non-residents are encouraged to attend. Pizza, popcorn and a soda are included in the $6 admission fee per person. Swimming, a DJ and other activities will run until 10 p.m. Due to the lock-in format, anyone leaving prior to closing will not be allowed to return. For more information, call 314-729-4860.
