Looks like a busy day ahead for our "Patch."

1. According to information published by the Federal Communications Commission, as many as nine million Americans have their identities stolen every year. Good news for Crestwood and Sunset Hills residents, though: There's a Thursday at St. Louis Community College's South County campus. The free seminar is open to the public, but get there early as seating is limited.

2. Looking for an inspirational cultural experience? Check out the play about first responders, based on a true story, this week at Crestwood Court's ArtSpace. Starring Alan Knoll and Laurie McConnell, has an 8 p.m. showtime Thursday, as well as several alternate times through the weekend and special performances the following week.

3. Networking is crucial to your business, so if you're feeling friendly Friday morning, you might find yourself at the event sponsored by the chamber of commerce. Be sure to bring your business cards and your smile to , 3980 S Lindbergh Blvd., Friday from 7:30 am to 9:00 am.

4. has a board of adjustment meeting Thursday at 7 pm. Among other things, the board will discuss a resident's request for a variance that would allow construction of a deck within the required side yard setback for the single-family zoning district where she lives.

5. On this day in 1974, President Gerald Ford unconditionally pardoned his predecessor, Richard Nixon, for any crimes he might have committed while in office. When the House Judiciary Committee criticized him for the action, Ford said he did it to end the national division caused by the Watergate scandal.
