Here is your mid-week daily dose for Wednesday, Aug. 10.

1. Discussions continue with the Sunset Hills Residential Recovery Task Force. Another meeting is planned at 4 p.m. to talk about the presentation to the Planning and Zoning Commission regarding the tornado affected area on Lindbergh. 

2. The Dog Days of Summer exhibit continues through Oct. 2 at Laumeier Sculpture Park. The exhibit, which examines the intersection between human behavior and animals, features the work of 10 artists both indoors and outdoors. 

3. After a scorching July and early August, it looks like we're getting a break in the weather this week. Look out for thunderstorms forecasted today.

4. This day in 1821, Missouri was admitted as the 24th state of the United States of America.

5. A rough day in history—a day after murdering Sharon Tate and four others, members of Charles Manson's cult kill Leno and Rosemary LaBianca. Also on this day in 1981, the head of John Walsh's son Adam is found. This inspires the creation of the television series America's Most Wanted.
