A Tour Through the New Nolan Office Interiors

Now that the company has vacated both Hampton and Crestwood Court offices, owner Bill Nolan takes Patch through a tour of the new facility on Gravois.

Nolan Office Interiors has finally found a permanent home. Formerly on Hampton Avenue for 27 years and at , the business moved into its new location on Gravois Road in late-April, and Owner Bill Nolan couldn't be happier.

Nolan took Patch on a tour of the new showroom, first going through a part of a hallway where the wall had been knocked out, making ofr more roon in the now 3,500 sq. ft. space. The back was was opened up and a part of the middle wall had been cut out for aesthetic purposes.

"We had a lot of fun designing this with the 45 degree angle," Nolan said.

The new upstairs planning room is where clients can come in, consult and pick all the finishes for their new office. They can pick items such as carpet samples, laminate samples, wall coverings and vinyl base. The ceiling even has several tiles installed so clients can see the contrast between items. Lighting in the planning room will be changed row by row—another real-life client view to assist in planning decisions.

"For the first time we can sit around a table with the client and we have a computer and phone up here so we can call the mill and ask if they have it in stock," Nolan said. "Before we'd have to run to our desk to do it."

Nolan said that he and his wife of 25 years, Mary, love the new location.

"We built it for us—we designed it. We didn't move into it the way they designed it. We were on Hampton and we remodeled it painted it and changed carpet and that kinda stuff, but we were never really able to change how it was laid out," Nolan said.

Even though Nolan loves the new location on Gravois, he does miss the activity in Crestwood Court—a little bit.

"Our doorway was about 30 feet wide; we heard everything that was going on in the court," he said. "The first Christmas was exciting and Christmas music was playing, but by the second year the (noise) was kind of a distraction. I do miss the people just stopping by and I hope they figure out where I am and then come by here."
