Art Space Dance Studio Keeps Roots in Crestwood

The Studio 42, which opened in Crestwood Court roughly three years ago, has a new, permanent space on Reco Avenue.

A dance studio that once occupied Art Space at has found a new, permanent space in the community.

The Crestwood Board of Aldermen approved The Studio 42’s request to operate out of 1157 Reco Ave. last Tuesday. Owners Lawrence and Tracey Harmon offer weekly dance classes and social dance nights. They opened the studio in 's Art Space three years ago, according to city documents. 

Dance styles vary from salsa, west coast swing, line dancing, and even zumba. A Friday night dance draws between 80 and 130 dancers, according to planning and zoning commission minutes.

The space can also be used for special events, according to the studio’s website.

They're currently offering classes in the same development, 1100 Reco Ave.

“This will be a progressive move,” with renovations expected to last three months, according to their website. 

Alcohol will not be sold at the venue, but students will be allowed to “bring a personal amount of alcohol if they choose to do so,” according to city documents.
