Crawfish Tacos on the Menu at King Edwards for Cinco de Mayo (May 5); Seis de Mayo (May 6), Too

Owner Randy Shore is ready to deep fry a lot of crawfish as he puts crawfish tacos on the menu Sunday and Monday.

King Edwards Chicken & Fish, as its name suggests, specializes in fried chicken and fish. But for Cinco De Mayo this year and in several past years, owner Randy Shore tosses crawfish in the fryer and makes crawfish tacos.

The special treat will be available this year on May 5 and May 6, and only on those days, Shore adds.

Otherwise it's back to the tried and true fried chicken dinners, chicken strips and nuggets and, for the seafood fans, cod fillets, whole jack salmon, catfish fillets and nuggets, frog legs, clam strips and various shrimp dishes.

King Edwards Chicken & Fish, is a popular spot--the restaurant was just ranked among Riverfront Times readers' top five favorite fried chicken spots, according to the publication's Restaurants 2013 guide. Shore states the obvious when he says that "Our main thing is chicken and fish."

Except once a year when he orders in a load of crawfish and gets to work cranking out tacos.
