Crestwood Court Entertainment Complex Successful in Chicago

Before plans fell apart for Crestwood Court, Centrum Properties partner Sol Barket said he felt the outdoor entertainment concept would flourish in the city.

Before plans disintegrated as the planner and mall owner both checked out from the the Crestwood Court project, Centrum Properties partner's Sol Barket expressed proven results with a similar entertainment district plan that took off  in Chicago.

At that time Barket said the project would succeed here if city officials got behind the concept, according to Call; which also said he spoke for close to an hour during the public comment period of the Board of Aldermen's July 9 work session, describing the effort he has put into the proposed $121 million redevelopment.

Barket was pushing for the board to move forward with tax-increment financing, or TIF, for the open-air entertainment complex.

Barket said the District at Crestwood is modeled after the Park at Rosemont in the Rosemont suburb about 20 minitues from Chicago.
