Fozzie's Sandwich Emporium Chooses Second Location--But It's Not in Crestwood

The sandwich shop based in Richmond Heights has chosen Des Peres for its new restaurant.

Fozzie's Sandwich Emporium is moving in to a second location--but it's in Des Peres, and not in Crestwood as once proposed.

This summer the sandwich shop, based in Richmond Heights, will take over the space previously occupied by Dottie's Ice Cream Parlor. Fozzie's opened in 2010 and has been a popular pitstop ever since, serving up sandwiches, gyros, salads and burgers.

Last fall owner Mark Lucas submitted a proposal to open the second store in the Sappington Barn Center in Crestwood. However, he withdrew his request and Karen Mott's The Barn was chosen to open at the Sappington House Complex. Her restaurant opened in early March.

St. Louis Magazine reports the new Fozzie's location will seat about 40 customers, and include an indoor garden. While Lucas pitched the construction of a soda fountain for the Sappington Barn space, it is not mentioned in the plans for the Des Peres location so far.

What do you think? A Sunset Hills couple recently opened a soda fountain called Fizzy's in Webster Groves. Do you think a restaurant similar to Fozzie's or Fizzy's could work in Crestwood or Sunset Hills? Tell us in the comments.
