Meet the Crestwood-Sunset Chamber's Business Person of the Year

Last week the Crestwood-Sunset Hills Chamber of Commerce honored its 2012 Chamber Award Winners, including Business Person of the Year Richard W. Bayers. Bayers is a C.P.A.

Since he graduated from Saint Louis University in 1971, Richard W. Bayers, C.P.A., has provided accounting and tax services to the small business community - providing affordable professional service focused on the clients’ needs. The firm offers an array of services that help small businesses with compliance reporting. Some of the services include tax services for corporations, partnerships, trusts and individuals as well as IRS representation. He prepares monthly, quarterly and annual payroll and sales tax returns, as well as monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements as needed. He also provides all tax services to the Chamber.

Rich stays in front of the curve of the tax world with memberships in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Missouri Association of Tax Practitioners.

Rich has been and continues to be active at his church with past stints as Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader. He is currently a board member of the church business network, and he serves as Eucharistic minister. Rich has been Vice President and served on the board of his motorcycle club. He is also one of the Safety Road Captains for the club. He has served on the Bikers for Babies committee of the March of Dimes for more than ten years.

Rich joined the Crestwood-Sunset Hills Area Chamber of Commerce in 2004 and has been very involved ever since. Involvement includes participation in most Chamber events (even during tax season) and sponsorship of various events. He is chairman of the Community / Member Development Committee, past chairman of the Student of the Month Committee. He is also a member of the Auction Committee, chairman of the Route 66 Committee, and Finance Committee member. He has served on the Executive Committee for three years, and as the 2011 president of the Chamber. He has been a Chamber board member since 2008. Rich is much deserving of the Chamber Member of the Year Award.
