New O'Leary's Owner Will Keep Name, Fried Pickles

It's for sure--the Sunset Hills Board of Aldermen approved Kyle Hamacher to operate the Sunset Hills pub. He'll take over St. Patrick's Day weekend, but it sounds like actor John Goodman won't be involved.

One potential deal to switch O'Leary's ownership over fell through, but from what was said at Tuesday night's Sunset Hills Board of Aldermen meeting, a new owner is for sure.

Kyle Hamacher of Red Bear, LLC, was unanimously approved for his liquor and business licenses to operate the Lindbergh Boulevard pub. He will be the sole new owner of the restaurant effective March 15, he said--just in time for St. Patrick's Day celebrations.

The restaurant is best known for its fried pickles and connection to co-owner John Goodman. Did you know O'Leary's was voted favorite place to celebrate St. Patrick's Day by Patch Readers?

Hamacher told aldermen Tuesday he was retaining the name and fried pickles. Patch is working to provide you with more details on the new owner and what's in store for the pub.
