  • Comments: Soap was not available in the employee bathroom. The inspector found a heavy, moldlike buildup on an ice machine, in addition to employee shoes stored on top of a box of dressing. Three tubs of food in the walk-in cooler were not stored at least six inches off the floor.

  • Comments: Stacks of dishes were not inverted to protect the food surface side. A mop was stored on the floor, instead of hanging to air dry.

Alcorn Sunset Hills, 12960 Gravois Rd.

  • Inspection date: May 16
  • Grade: A (94)
  • Comments: Floor tiles in bathrooms were broken, and soda cabinets were recommended for replacement. The inspector noted a freezer thermometer was missing; some canned foods were not properly labeled; some canned foods were stored on top of a grease trap, which could lead to contamination. Drain board strainers in the sanitizing sink were not being used properly, according to the report.
