South County Resale Shop Owners Bring Their Designer Fashion to Reality TV

The family behind Women's Closet Exchange are starring in "Resale Royalty," which premieres on Style Network next month.

The trio of women who run a successful designer resale boutique in South County are used to national attention, and next month they’ll begin a new adventure in reality TV.

Owner Sue McCarthy and daughters Diana Ford and Laura Maurice run Women’s Closet Exchange, 11575 Gravois Rd. Their store has received nods from RFT and St. Louis Magazine for their top-notch (albeit secondhand) merchandise.

They’ll soon be recognized as the stars of “Resale Royalty” on Style Network. The new show premiers May 12 at 8 p.m. Hollywood stylist Rachel Zoe is listed as an executive producer.

“Resale Royalty” will show off the women’s “spectacular closet buys of posh St. Louis socialites,” in addition to “exclusive shopping tours across the country,” according to a release from Style Network.

The women explain their business roles in the April 2012 issue of ALIVE Magazine.

“McCarthy is the brains of the operation—the big ideas generator…. Her oldest daughter, Ford, handles all marketing strategy and events related to SCE and its sister shops, Clique (a teen resale shop) and the Purple Cow (a children’s and maternity resale outlet). The youngest, Maurice, executes on all social media—also claiming the title of ‘label genius’ for her knowledge of obscure, high-end designers,” according to the magazine.
