Bikers Supporting Military with $20,000 Check

Gateway Harley-Davidson would like to thank their customers once again for helping them to raise $20,000 for the USO of Missouri through their annual fundraising campaign called the "Year of the USO".

Gateway Harley-Davidson would like to thank their customers once again for helping them to raise $20,000 for the USO of Missouri through their annual fundraising campaign called the "Year of the USO". Friday, April 19th at 11:00am it will be official as Gateway Harley-Davidson Owners, Chris and Rene Creed hand over the giant check to representatives of the USO of Missouri. This will be the 9th check of its kind totalling well over a combined $100,000.

The check presentation will close out the year of fundraising for 2012. But the very next day, Saturday April 20th from 10am-4pm, we'll start our fundraising for 2013 with our USO Kickoff Party. This event will feature live music by Rio! Band Rocks, food by Hookers BBQ, adult beverages and giveaways. This will be the first of a series of monthly events with some aspect raising money to support the USO of Missouri, including the 10th Annual Gypsy Rendezvous Memorial Ride, a Father's Day event, the 2nd annual Gearhead Invasion Car and Bike Show, the 4th annual Tee Off for the Troops Charity Golf Scramble and our 10th annual Motorcycle Raffle and Veteran's Day Parade event.

The bulk of this donation comes from our annual Motorcycle Raffle. Each year, $10 tickets are sold to raffle off a brand new Harley-Davidson® motorcycle, usually a Street Glide®. Last year we added a twist. For every ticket sold (maximum 4,000) the name of a local military member was put into a second raffle for a 2012 Harley-Davidson® Sportster®. Several thousand people, civilians and service men and women alike, showed up on November 10th at our Post-Veteran's Day Parade Lot Party to see if their lucky name was drawn.

Forget the stereotypes associated with law-breaking-gun-running-bad-news bikers and annoyingly-pushy-over-zealous used car dealership salespeople. These events are family-friendly and military focused. Come on out to show your support for our local military. Bring your family and friends. It's time to have a great time!
