Crestwood Court: Complaints About 'Unofficial Meeting' Draw Attorney General's Attention
The Missouri attorney general's office has received a number of complaints regarding the meeting.
Half of the Crestwood Board of Aldermen met unofficially to discuss the future of Crestwood Court, which has some residents concerned about potential violations of the Missouri Sunshine Law.
The sunshine law is meant to guarantee open records and meetings regarding public business. On Wednesday, The Call posted a detailed report about the unofficial meeting.
Attorney General Chris Koster wrote a letter to aldermen seeking an explanation, the article notes.
"The complaints allege that four members of the board … met at a local Starbucks on June 4, 2013, and discussed the redevelopment of Crestwood Court without posting notice," Koster wrote in the letter, the article notes.
Learn more about the complaints and the city's planned response in The Call's detailed report.
