Cupid in 5K for Third Year Running

Valentine's Trail Run means love is in the air and passion for cropping, dancing, art and trivia too.

Run for love through love-ly Whitecliff Park in Saturday Valentine's Trail 5K Run. Then crop-till-you-drop at the community center. Dance the night away to Disco and Motown after ten rounds of trivia. Say when?

1. VALENTINE’S Trail Run

Where/When: Whitecliff Park, 9245 Whitecliff Park Ln. in Crestwood; Saturday, 10 a.m. Register on day of the run is no problem. Expect a group of 80, split into smaller groups by age and couples.

Why Go: Friends that run together stay healthy together! Couples (so sweet) are invited to participate in this 5K trail run (3.5 miles) in and around the park, no matter what the weather.

Price: $20 per person

2. PASSIONATE ABOUT Crop Till You Drop

Where/When: Crestwood Community Center, Whitecliff Park, 9245 Whitecliff Park Ln.; Friday, 6-10 p.m.

Why Go: Have fun cropping and socializing with a group of folks who share your passion for the activity.

Pricing: $2 residents, $4 non-residents

 

 3. JESSICA STOCKHOLDER SCULPTURE SHOW

Where/When: Laumeier Sculpture Park, 12580 Rott Rd.; Saturday, 5-7 p.m., Grab Grassy This Moment Your I's.

Why Go: Celebrate the opening of a sculpture exhibition by Jessica Stockholder with a public reception and gallery talk. Stockholder is the director of graduate sculpture at Yale University in CT. Her work is mixed media and considered quirky by some.

4. LOVE IS BLIND Trivia Night

Where/When: Two Hearts Banquet Center, 4532 S. Lindbergh Blvd.; Saturday, doors open at 6:15 trivia starts at 7 p.m.

Why Go: Make plans for a good cause by supporting the Midwestern Braille Volunteers of Kirkwood, an organization that transcribes books into Braille.

Pricing: $20 per person, $200 table of 10

 

5. MEET A PARTNER for dancing at JP’S Corner

Where/When: JP’S Corner, 11890 Gravois Rd.; Saturday, 9 p.m.-1 a.m.

Why Go: Purge the winter blahs out of your system by dancing to the music of Powerplay, a band that plays disco, Motown and R&B.
