1) We recognize George Washington's birthday today by a 1968 act of Congress. The day has come to be known as Presidents Day.

2) Lindbergh district schools are closed today.

3) No U.S. mail is delivered today, it is a federal holiday.

5) Today is the 133rd anniversary of the first telephone book issued (in CT), 126th anniversary of the dedication of the Washington Monument, 86th anniversary of the first issue of The New Yorker magazine, 46th anniversary of Malcolm X assassination in New York City and the 39th anniversary of Richard Nixon's trip to Communist China leading to normalization of relations.
