Five Things You Need to Know For Feb. 8, 2011

Five things for today.

1) Lindbergh Board of Education meets tonight, Tuesday, at 7:30 pm in the new meeting room, inside the brand new Early Childhood Education center which is right next door to the district administration building and Lindbergh High School. The board is expected to consider the new boundaries for elementary age students since Truman Elementary will become a middle school next year.

2) Crestwood's Board of Aldermen meets tonight, 7 p.m., at the city government offices off Sappington Road at Detjen Drive. The board is expected to learn of the expected $50,000 operating loss for this year compared to last year's $77,000 in the hole, for the pool. The city had to bring the drain covers up to new standards in line with potential suction drownings. 

3) Sunset Hills Board of Aldermen meets tonight, 7 p.m., at the city government campus. It is expected to consider whether to allow a bank to build and operate at 10505 Watson Rd.

4) Picture day (of students) was today at Crestwood Elementary. If you want "Today Only" prices for orders, it's good through the end of the week. You can order only a class picture too. Turn in the request to the school office by Friday, Feb. 11.

5) Today is the 30th anniversary of NASDAQ, the 59th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II being proclaimed Queen of the United Kingdom and the 89th anniversary of President Harding introducing the first radio in the White House.
