Five Things You Need to Know Today

Party before it becomes Truman Middle School Aug. 16.

1) It's Kennerly's Kindergarten Grandparents Day, 1pm at the school.

2) Truman Elementary Parent-Teacher Group hosts a farewell party tonight from 7-9pm at the school, with Radio Disney, Dippin' Dots, face painting and friends.

3) Sappington Elementary has its Olympic Day, today, at the school.

4) Sunset Hills' one-acre lake at Watson Trail Park is open for fishing. The $2 for adults and $1 for kids and seniors fees are deposited into the yellow/orange mailbox at the lake's edge. Limit is three fish per day. Minnows are not allowed as bait. State fishing license not required.

5) Fishing in the Meramac River at Minnie Ha Ha Park in Sunset Hills requires a state fishing license and is governed by state Conservation guidelines, says the city Parks and Recreation department.
