1) No Family Dinner Night (and music) at the Sunset Hills Aquatic Facility; the competition and recreation pools close at 2:30pm for a swim meet. Next week 5-9pm Family Night back on schedule.

2) Crestwood (Veteran's) Memorial Committee meets 3:30pm in the fire department Training Room at Government Center, to discuss fundraising, non-profit status request and design of potential memorial.

3) Storytime 10:30am for ages 3-6 at Oak Bend Branch of St. Louis County Library; then at 7pm Writing and Poetry Sharing for adults, open to all. Bring your work to share with others.  842 S. Holmes Ave.

4) Sunset Hills Municipal Court meets 7pm City Hall, 6:45pm sign in.

5) On this day in 1969 American Neil Armstrong was the first person to walk on the moon; in 1925 a biology teacher named Scopes is found guilty in a trial in Tennessee and fined $100 for teaching the theory of evolution to his class; in 1865 a shootout in Springfield, MO market square between Wild Bill Hickok and another man is thought to be the first Western "showdown."
