1) Mystery Lovers book group meets 10am Oak Bend Branch of St. Louis Public Library. This month’s selection is “Star Spangled Murder” by Leslie Meier. All adults welcome.

2) Be a Mapmaker, ages 6 and up, 2pm Oak Bend Branch Library. Learn about maps then make one of your neighborhood, imaginary land, or favorite story.

3) Concert 8pm (free) in Crestwood's Whitecliff Park; Gentlemen Bandits. Bring what you need/want.

5) On this day: In 1796 Cleveland, OH was named after a Connecticut lawyer who led the survey team of the U.S. Western Reserve, Moses Cleaveland and first "a" later dropped from city name; in 1942 the U.S. began rationing gasoline for citizens because of WWII demand; in 1890 the mother of U.S. President JFK, Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy, was born; in 1923 Bob Dole was born—the 1996 Republican candidate for U.S. president.
