2:45pm: KMOV4 showed video on its website of suspect Cody Wilcoxon standing outside a car on a rural road, hands appeared cuffed behind his back, and surrounded by police. Wilcoxon was wearing a sleeveless, primarily navy blue shirt with thin horizontal  white stripes.

11:41am: Rolla Police Chief Mark Kearse on FOX 2 news said in a live interview that shots were exchanged between a suspect and police—including the chief himself— in a car chase, and then a foot chase.

Police said the suspect ditched his car at Rolla University after a crash and police shot out the tires. The suspect ran through a University building, crossed a road and an Interstate highway, and went into a neighborhood.

Police said the suspect was now driving a gray 2003 Ford Taurus car with the license plates "ROLLA B" belonging to a resident from a nearby home.

Kearse said the suspect at this time is Cody Wilcoxon, 31, last seen in a blue and white striped shirt and khaki shorts. Police described the suspect as 5'10" and 180 pounds, with sandy hair. Call 911 if you spot him.

Police said the suspect fired an automatic weapon as he drove.

Police said a grad student studying in Rolla's McNutt Hall saw a man run through who appeared to be bleeding, possibly from the hand. Police said an AK-47 weapon was discovered discarded outside McNutt Hall.

Police said Wilcoxon is the suspect in an early morning incident at Ft. Leonard Wood in which a man tried to storm the entrance gate but was turned away. The car was identical to the car, a gray Dodge Magnum, abandoned by the suspect in the Rolla gunman chase.
