National HIV Testing Day Monday; Free at Planned Parenthood and Wash U.

Here's the closest places to stop in for a free test.

Monday is National HIV Testing Day and two clinics in the area offer the test for free.

“HIV testing is for everyone,” said Paula Gianino, President and CEO of Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region and Southwest Missouri.

“It is now a routine part of health care. Everyone should get tested regularly. By providing free testing on June 27, we are helping to ensure that cost is not a barrier,” Gianino said.

About one in four Americans with HIV are women, according to data from the national Center for Disease Control.

“National HIV Testing Day is a great reminder that early diagnosis and treatment saves lives and prevents new infections,” Gianino said.
