Frugal Family clues in area residents onto a handful of cheap deals and freebies each week.

Since Frugal Family was born February 1, we've alerted Patch users to dozens of deals on groceries, clothes, kids' toys, tools, household items and entertainment options.

1. in Crestwood

Deal: Print a coupon to receive 30 percent off eyeglasses and sunglasses with a prescription. Members of AAA and AARP also receive 30 percent off, and kids' eyeglasses are discounted 50 percent every day.

The at the Webster Groves Public Library is open to everyone. Used books, CDs, and movies for all ages are on sale for cheap.

Deal: Besides the 5 to 9 p.m. Patron's Preview on Thursday, which costs $5, entry to the fair is free.
