Lindbergh Schools Foundation Collecting Donations for South County Family Affected by House Fire

Mia and Maci Gapsch lost their father in a house fire in Concord early Tuesday morning.

The Lindbergh Schools Foundation has set up a fund to benefit two students who lost their home in a house fire in South County on Tuesday.

The fire broke out in the home of Mia and Maci Gapsch around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, at Tesson Ferry and St. Simon in Conchord. 13-year-old Mia was the first member of the family to notice the smoke and reported the fire to authorities. Their father, 38-year-old Terry Gapsch, was pronounced dead early Tuesday.

Mia sustained minor injuries. 11-year-old Maci and their grandmother, Georgetta Gapsch, were transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

The girls attend Sperreng Middle School, according to the Lindbergh School District.

Anyone interested in contributing to the fund can donate online, or mail a check payable to "Lindbergh Schools Foundation," 4900 S. Lindbergh Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63126. Please write "Gapsch Family Fund" in the memo line.
