Pretzel Boy’s and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri Join Forces to Offer a Twisted Fundraising Experience

Pretzel Boy's has designated Monday, June 11, as Big Brothers Big Sisters Day. The business will donate $5 for every customer purchase from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Those who buy any of the soft and tasty treats at Pretzel Boy’s on Monday, June 11, will help earn money for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri. Pretzel Boy’s has designated June 11 as Big Brothers Big Sisters Day and is donating $5 to the nonprofit agency for every customer who makes a pretzel purchase.

The goal of this twisted event, according to Pretzel Boy’s owner Tim Garvey, is to raise enough money to match one or two children on the Big Brothers Big Sisters’ waiting list. It costs roughly $1,200 to make and support one team for one year so Pretzel Boy’s is hoping lots of folks stop by and deplete their inventory of softies, cheese pups and sausage pretzels, among an assortment of other tasty treats.

Pretzel Boy’s is counting on the greater St. Louis community’s support so that kids like 7-year-old Khalub will be matched with a Big. Khalub has been dreaming about the day he gets a Big Brother. He imagines lots of game playing, hanging out and plain old fun. This soon to be third grader is shy initially, but his smile widens and his eyes light up when he shares what it might be like to have a Big Brother.

This is the second year Pretzel Boy’s has earmarked a special day to fund raise for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri. In addition to being a big believer in the agency’s mission to build trusting and enduring relationships that encourage and support young people, Pretzel Boy’s feels a very personal motivation to contribute because one of the business’s employees is Little Brother Dominique. “Dominique is such a great guy! He brings a lot of hard work and laughter with him to Pretzel Boy’s,” Garvey commented, adding, “We love the Big Brothers Big Sisters program and the idea of helping out more kids just like Dominique!”

Little Brother Dominique will be twisting pretzels on Big Brothers Big Sisters Day at Pretzel Boy’s.
