It Annoys Me When I See Police Officers . . .

St. Louis County Police Officer Aaron Dilks posed an interesting exercise this week based on a conversation he had with a citizen at a bank. He's looking for feedback.

Neighborhood Police Officer Aaron Dilks, of the , wants some feedback on a "fill in the blanks" exercise based on a conversation he had with a resident at a bank recently. The conversation intrigued him so much he decided to offer it up to everyone to fill in their own blanks. He said the responses were enlightening.

So here it is:

It annoys me when I see police officers ____________ (Fill in the blank).

speeding and i know they are not in the process of doing their job , I've actually followed them just to see. I've also talked to many that have seen and did the same .

I agree with john everett's comment, also like to add running stop signs/red lights when not on a call either or within view of citizens running red light themselves and cops just sitting there, then there's talking on their own personal cellphones, no wonder the general public does everything mentioned...

Driving AND talking on their cell phones....

Pulling over motorists to give out a ticket and not directing them to pull over into a parking lot or at least far enough off the traveled lanes to not cause traffic blockage. I've seen some near accidents caused by such unthinking behavior, both on secondary roads and high speed roads. In addition, some officers seem to think they can park anywhere they want at any time, apparently just because they have a badge and a marked car. I find these behaviors to be annoying.

parking on curbs at a busy grocery store (instead of using the regular parking spaces like everyone else) and then seeing them inside -- not on police business, but grocery shopping!

When I see 4 police cars, an ambulance and a fire truck respond to a diabetic man having blood sugar issues inside Crestwood Schnucks. It happened around 6pm on 3/10/12. Really 4 squad cars needed? Great waste of resources, or maybe they were just shopping like CM Bruce says!
