What Ever Happened to So-and-So? Sally Knows.

Also, from the snow-covered flowers to the golf course, to 85 degrees and sunny, it's finally Spring.

Just when we thought it was spring and blossoms were popping out everywhere, we woke up to a surprise snow. Then, it was 85-degrees and felt like summer. Well, Esther Gier of the Sunset Hills Garden Club watched as spring snow covered her blooms, but along with other lucky flowering tree owners, including the Sunset Lakes Golf Course, hers have survived so far. . .

Speaking of golf, KSDK’s Mike Bush was at the Sunset Lakes Golf Course on Saturday to write about Daniel Crum, the Affton High School golfer being honored with a National Sportsmanship Award. Sunset Lakes General Manager Don McCune recently showed off their banquet room overlooking the course. Sunset Lakes offers affordable golf. The driving range is grass just like the courses. . .

The five-time Grammy-nominated “Quartet San Francisco” will perform at the Lindbergh Auditorium April 20 at 7 p.m. Their music includes jazz, tango, pop, funk, blues, bluegrass, gypsy swing, big band and beyond. Others who will join them as they play songs like Under the Sea from The Little Mermaid and “The Pink Panther” will be The East Watson String Quartet (LHS students) and the Concord String Quartet (Sperreng students).  For ticket information contact Mark Hazlewood at markp@praypub.org

Ever wonder what became of the DeBasio Furniture family, long-time of Crestwood, since they shut the doors on their family-owned furniture store three years ago? Kim DeBasio Noblot owns Cohens Draperies & Blinds. Winners were announced for the Kevin Kline Awards and Jim Butz, won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Play for his portrayal of Hamlet at the Shakespeare Festival St. Louis. Butz, who recently announced he is retiring to become a pastor is the brother of Tony Award-winner Norbert Leo Butz who is about to open Catch Us If You Can on Broadway this week. They are both brothers of Mike Butz of Crawford-Butz Insurance. The Mike Butz family is a Lindbergh family.  "It was a great night," said Mike Butz who attended the awards ceremony.

Lindbergh High School water polo alumni made a splash Friday after the varsity water polo game. They stayed for an alumni game. Even-numbered graduating years took on odd-numbered graduating years for a vigorous evening of fun. Contact Andy Butler at abutler@lindberghschools.ws for more of the story.

Restaurant owner Kevin O’Leary’s niece Andrena Grillo has a new commercial for The Ankle & Foot Institute which started playing on 97.1 FM Wednesday. Andrena is a talented voiceover and actor. . .

Truman assistant principal Dr. Todd Morgan out-shot Lindbergh High School 12th grade principal Pam Mason, in the Project Graduation 2011 faculty basketball game March 25. The event raised more than $3,000 for the seniors’ annual alcohol and drug free overnight graduation party.
