Crestwood's best Mom wins $10,000 of cabinets!

A deserving mother of 6 and valued member of the Crestwood community wins $10,000 in cabinets for a long overdue kitchen remodel!

Maureen Hamtil is the best mom in Crestwood. Sorry, I guess I'm a little biased on this one. Really, though, it's not just me who thinks she is great! It's because she is such a kindhearted Mother, friend, neighbor, and community member that my family was able to rally so much support for her to win a kitchen cabinet contest in 2012!

Armstrong Cabinets launched a Mother's Day contest called "Gifted Moms", which had a prize of up to $10,000 in cabinetry to be awarded.  When I saw the contest on Facebook, I knew quickly that I needed to enter my Mom!  With a kitchen that had seen a family of 6 children through to adulthood, and that was mostly still original to the house, I know this was a great opportunity to get Mom the new kitchen that she had been needing for so long.  The other criteria besides a wore out kitchen was that the winner should be a deserving and truly gifted mother.  With a spirit of selflessness, and tireless work in community service, my Mom is incredibly deserving to be sure.  My siblings and I are all very grateful to have been raised by such a kind and patient woman, and to have been taught the values of love and service for others which she demonstrates on almost a daily basis.

Our father is a home improvement contractor who operated his Crestwood based business for 26 years, and he always had intentions to remodel the kitchen after he retired.  Unfortunately, cancer and a back injury derailed the plans after he retired in 2007.  Now, thanks to the Armstrong Contest, the plans are back in action with sons Paul and David of Hamtil Construction LLC taking on the kitchen build.  Also included will be a deck and small addition to greatly improve the functionality and accessibility of the space for the next 40 years!
