Blotter: Jewelry Stolen from Nursing Home Resident

Police said the Friendship Village resident's jewelry was valued at $1,300.

Approximately $1,300 in jewelry is missing from a Friendship Village resident, and Sunset Hills police believe the jewelry was taken. The items were reported taken on Aug. 21, according to police reports.

It is the third theft at the senior living facility in the last few months. A resident said just over $100 was taken from their room in August. A former employee was charged with stealing two rings, valued at $4,500, on Aug. 13. Police said Lynnette Michel, of Bella Villa, pawned one ring and sold the other to a gold dealer to get money to buy heroin, according to a previous Patch report.
