Cell Phone Left on Top of Car in Sunset Hills Survives Ride to St. Charles

Sunset Hills Police Department reports on law enforcement and criminal activity, June 17-25.

Thefts, recovered property

  • June 18: An attempted burglary was reported on the 10400 block of East Watson around 3:19 p.m.
  • June 21: Two customers drove off without paying at Phillips 66, 10743 Watson Rd.
  • June 21: A license plate was reported stolen on the 200 block of Floralea.
  • June 21: License plates were reported missing.
  • June 22: A cell phone that was reported stolen by a resident on the 10600 block of East Watson had actually been left on top of a friend’s vehicle. The phone slid down and got caught near the windshield wipers, according to police, and stayed intact during a ride to St. Charles. The phone was returned to its owner in working condition, police said.
  • June 24: Items valued at $1,520 were taken from a vehicle parked on the 12700 block of West Watson.
  • June 24: A watch valued at $4,240 was reported missing from an unlocked vehicle.

Fugitive arrests

  • June 20: City Hall, 7:32 p.m.
  • June 21: Maclane and Rott roads, 10:09 p.m.
Destruction of property
  • A piece of a vehicle struck another vehicle when it fell off on the 200 block of Monica, causing minor damage.
