Clerk Refuses to Give Money to Pocket-Knife Wielding Robber, Police Say

Sunset Hills Police said Moriah E. Turk tried to rob the Phillips 66 gas station Monday using a folding pocketknife.

A clerk declined to hand over money to a woman who tried to rob a Sunset Hills gas station with a pocketknife, police said.

The woman, Moriah E. Turk, 26, was charged Tuesday with attempted first-degree robbery and armed criminal action. Turk’s address is listed as Tucson, AZ.

Sunset Hills Police said Turk pointed an open pocketknife at the clerk and demanded all the money in the cash register at the Phillips 66 station, 10743 Watson Road in Sunset Hills about 5:05 a.m. Monday.

When the clerk refused to turn the money over Turk left the store, police said.

Turk is being held in the St. Louis County Justice Center. Bail was set at $25,000.
