June DWI Checkpoints Scheduled in St. Louis County

You may want to think twice before having a quick drink and hopping into the driver's seat.

St. Louis County Police Officers will be cracking down on impaired driving at a number of checkpoints throughout the entire month of June.

The St. Louis County Police Highway Safety Unit and officers from the Division of Patrol will be checking  for the impaired motorists. That means drunk drivers or high drivers.

The goal, of course, is to reduce the number of intoxicated drivers on streets and highways. Police said the inconvenience to motorists should be minimal.

The officers participating have additional training to recognized who has had too much to drink or is under the influence of illegal drugs, according to a St. Louis County PD statement.

Officers will also write tickets or make arrests for other violations discovered like not wearing a seatbelt or driving with a revoked license.
