Man Shot at Sunset Hills Burger King, Police Say

A 45-year-old man suffered multiple gunshot wounds, which he said occurred after a struggle with a stranger in the fast food restaurant's parking lot Monday evening.

A man says he was shot Monday in the parking lot at the Sunset Hills Burger King, located at the intersection of Sunset Hills Plaza and Lindbergh Boulevard.

The incident was not reported at the restaurant, but later that evening when the victim's wife escorted him to an area hospital.

Police say he was approached by a man with a long barrel revolver while walking through the parking lot around 8:30 p.m. Sunset Hills police are still investigating the incident.

A man in dark clothing approached the victim from behind and asked for the time, according to a release from the department. When the victim turned around the man pointed the gun. A shot was discharged during a struggle when the victim attempted to grab the weapon. The man then got up and fired an additional few shots, which struck the victim in the head, shin, and thigh, according to the report.

The assault was first reported to police around 9:30 p.m. Officers conducted follow-up investigation at the restaurant beginning at 11:30 p.m., according to police logs.
