Man Struck By Ambulance in Sunset Hills Taken Into Custody for Fenton Bank Robbery

Warrants were issued Wednesday as Joseph L. Haring was released from the hospital following injuries he received when he was hit by an off-duty ambulance as he walked on Interstate 44.

A man who was struck by an ambulance on Interstate 44 nearly two weeks ago is out of the hospital, and in handcuffs.

The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued warrants Wednesday on Joseph L. Haring, 27, of the 100 block of Sugar Mountain, in Fenton, for one count of Robbery in the Second Degree, and one count of Resisting by Flight. A $100,000 cash-only bond has been issued.

Warrants were issued after St. Louis County Police responded to a bank robbery that occurred August 29 at the Reliance Bank, 1000 South Highway Drive, Fenton.

St. Louis County Detectives from the Bureau of Crimes Against Persons were able to take Haring into custody when he was released from the hospital where he was treated for injuries he received when he was hit by an ambulance on Aug. 31 as he was walking on Interstate 44 near Sunset Hills.
