Sunset Hills Police determined that a man who said he'd been shot multiple times by a stranger in the Burger King parking lot Monday evening gave officers false information. Officers said the 45-year-old man was actually shot in Jennings, Mo.

St. Louis County Police have taken over the investigation.

Monday night the man, who arrived at an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries, said he was approached by a stranger while walking from his car into the restaurant. He said the stranger pointed a long barrel revolver at him, and that he was shot several times following a struggle to grab the weapon.

Sunset Hills Police Chief William LaGrand said the man took officers to the actual site of the incident in Jennings.
