A thief set their sights on an easy target when they walked into a Sunset Hills jewelry store Thursday afternoon.
Huelsman Jewelers, 3828 Lindbergh Boulevard, reported a stolen ring around 12:08 p.m. A representative with the department said the suspect took the ring directly off one of the store's counters and left.
The ring is valued at $1,850.
A former Friendship Village employee was charged earlier this month with worth $5,000 from nursing home residents. Police said Lynnette Michel pawned one ring and sold the other to a gold dealer to get money to buy heroin.
