Sunset Hills Hotel Evacuated During Meth Lab Bust

An officer responding to a peace disturbance call at EconoLodge noticed a man cutting lithium batteries in front of another room.

Sunset Hills Police evacuated the EconoLodge on South Lindbergh Boulevard early Thursday morning after an officer discovered a meth lab in a room on the second floor, FOX2 reports.

Police were responding to a disturbance call, when an officer spotted a man cutting lithium batteries in front of another hotel room door, according to the report.

Finished meth was found in the room, FOX2 says. The hotel was evacuated, though guests were later let back into their rooms, according to the report.

A police officer was transported to the hospital and later released, according to CBS St. Louis.
